De maquette is gebruikt tijdens de Stadsherberg Enschede om kinderen bewust te maken van de hoogteverschillen en hun eigen woonplek laten zoeken op maquette met aansprekende “plaatsprikkertjes” waarmee ze hun woonplaats aan konden geven op de maquette

Children liked to color the tokens with markers or pencil and put them on the model. They usually choose animal shapes, not the Enschede related ones like a F16 or Grolsch bottle. Children did not care so much about what it depicted, they rather colored and played. Still, they made an effort to put them on the proper location.
