glass support
Artist Griet Beyaert asked me to help her to design supports for her glass sculpture
Her glass sculpture are thin and fragile and the support has to take this into consideration. You can see some examples on her site here
We spent two days generating ideas, sketching with pencil, looking at examples, making mock ups from various materials, finding out what we can do. Halfway we understood what was needed and possible and had to proceed to get a final design.
The result was surprisingly simple and elegant. Griet was happy with it, she can use this new design effectively for use in several sculptures to come
