part two

Together with Concordia and the Kottenpark College (secundary school in Enschede where pupils can follow a theater specialization) Part Two was created. It was the Concordia Jongeren Productie of 2005. A project with 17 and 18 year youngsters. It was performed in Enschede and later in Zwolle.

The set existed of about 20 old televisions. These were used as backdrop, color source or illustrated the text. Some moments it showed life video.

The televisions were used later in an installation in the window of Concordia and again in Wesselerbrinkballade. After wesselerbink ballade i discarded them, because they really became too unsafe to work with and storing them took much place.

I collected the old tv's from several second hand shop and whoever would give an old tube tv away. Four identical DVD players and coax splitters provided the signals for about 20 TV sets. The DVD's had chapters of exactly the same duration (made with premiere pro, exported to DVD) so with one remote controller all sets could jump simultaneously to the next scene. This could also be a black image. It worked well, a synchronisation of about half a second was possible. No laptop or mediaplayer yet, or way too expensive video technology. We worked with what we had.
